Announcements galore!

I shy away from Anouncements. So, I put them off as far as I can. But I guess, now I'm ready to share some of my joy with my blog friends.

I'm pregnant! Third month of the first trimester. - Yep, nasty morning sickness and all those usual stuff. Been craving junk food, that's why this month finds me with less home-cooked stuff.

Other announcement is because of Indira. She was telling so much about Toronto and how we get Indian gooseberries and guavas and all those Indian stuff in Toronto. So, I pestered hubby until he agreed to move to Toronto. So, we are moving to Toronto by end of March. Well, I was just kidding. :) We are moving to Toronto, yes, but No!, not because of Indira! (sorry, dear!) We've been thinking about this for a long time and think, now is the right time to move (for some personal reasons).
So, any tips on getting through pregnancy or moving to Canada is very much welcome!

Congratulations on the great news.
Pregnancy period is really sweet period. Try to enjoy. Take healthy food, plenty of water, rest and ofcourse do suggested exercise and walking.
During my pregnancy I took Flax seed meal, has got Omega-3-fatty acid, which helps in babies brain and spinal cord development(available at Trader Joe's) and Wheat Germ (available at American grocery stores), has plenty of vitamin E and folic acid. These two, appear like bran which doesn't alter taste or texture of cooked food. I used to add a tsp each in all my cooking, in gravies, curries, kootu, porial, even in chappati flour.
All the best. Have fun, be happy:-)

Blogger has been doing some weird things by arranging posts in different order.

Thanks Arjuna, I'll add you to the Indian Kitchens I visit, list. Yep, moving is never easy!

Indira! You knew it? Wow! Yep, I craved for lemon pickles, suddenly. :) Maybe that was a dead give away. Thanks Indira, for your wishes.

Thanks Tanuja.

Thanks Gini. We were planning to move much earlier - Then decided to wait till the end of first semester.

Thanks Mathi, Wow! There are a lot of bloggers in Canada. Would love to meet you all, after I settle down.

Thanks Kitchenmate, I'll look for flax seed meal and wheatgerm at my local health food store. (No TJ around here, sob, sob). I knew these were health foods, but didnt know they were okay (infact, good) to eat during pregnancy. Thanks again. Kitchenmate, I have a question - Is it ok to exercise during the first trimester? American docs say - go for it! And Indian docs/friends say 'No, wait till second trimester begins'. What should I do?

Thanks Ashwini, Yeah, too many big changes... :)

During my first trimester OB/GYN visit, they gave me book "Stay Healthy during pregnancy", states few set of safe exercises, I followed very few of them, i used to go for walking about 1/2 mile(then it was summer), not more than thaT. Dont over do. You can do lot of exercise and walking during your second trimester and third. The more you workout and walk, then you have really smoother pregnancy. You can mail (karthisentha@gmail.com) any doubts you have, i will tell you if i know. Take care Kay, and again ALL THE BEST.

Hey Kay... I'm so happy for you.. I got your msg on my mail just today & voila... a good news from your side too... Congratulations !!!!!!!! I just disappeared bcoz of my 9 month old angel who just does not want her mommy to sit on the laptop. She has been recently standing with support & is always upto something. So I have to be alert.

Pregnancy is the best part of a womans life & the best of all is when you will be holding your sweet little baby in ur arms & watch her grow.. Eat well, sleep well, drink a lot of water, listen to a lot of soothing music, keep urself happy, have your prenatals on time, dont miss on ur doctors appointments & most importantly... make an album. Take your pics every month & put those in the album, put pics of ur sonography & then pics of ur baby & her milestones every month after he/she is born. Do register on all baby websites.. they send you wonderful gifts. One of them is americanbaby.com.

Take care & congratulations once again...

Kay! Congrats on the great news!! Enjoy your pregnancy as much as you can. The morning sickness will go away soon, I am sure! Eat healthy, drink lots of fluids, think positive thoughts, walk a lot and if you can find a local health club or rec center, join their fitness program which they will adapt for a pregnant woman, based on how far along you are. There are many pregnant women at my local Rec Center working out with other non-pregnant folks.

Good luck with the move, too! Don't do any extra lifting or carrying! Leave that to the hubby and/or the movers. And if the amount of stuff you have to sort through affects your mood, just junk it or give it away to Purple Hearts or the Salvation Army or some such organization that will gladly accept it.

Lots of warm and positive thoughts are flowing your way from me!!

Hugs,
Manisha
